Hi there, I’m Andressa! I believe therapy is a space where you can slow down, make sense of your emotions, and feel comfortable talking about what has been weighing on you. Sometimes, anxiety, low mood, emotional exhaustion, relationship difficulties, or struggles with self-esteem can make everyday life feel more challenging. You don’t have to navigate these experiences on your own. I’m a psychologist with experience in clinical care for young people and adults, including supervised practice during my undergraduate training and my current online private practice. Throughout this journey, I’ve worked with people experiencing emotional distress, anxiety, depressive symptoms, difficulties in their relationships, and challenges related to self-esteem and important life decisions. My clinical work draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and I have additional training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and suicide prevention. I seek to understand each person’s experiences individually, considering not only their thoughts and emotions but also their relationships, personal circumstances, and the challenges they face in everyday life. Together, we can explore patterns that may be affecting your well-being and develop practical ways to navigate difficult emotions and situations. In our first session, we’ll take time to talk about what brings you to therapy, how you’ve been feeling, and what you hope to find through this process. You don’t need to know exactly what to say or have everything figured out beforehand. We can start wherever you feel comfortable and gradually explore what matters most to you. I chose psychology because I believe that understanding someone’s experiences requires looking beyond their difficulties and recognizing the person behind them. I value an approach that combines psychological knowledge with attention to each person’s individual story. My goal is to help you better understand your emotions, strengthen your self-esteem, develop healthier coping strategies, and find new ways of relating to yourself and the people around you. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Universidade Estadual do Sudoeste da Bahia (UESB), Brazil. My professional background includes clinical practice, psychological care in mental health services, and support for people experiencing emotional distress and crisis situations. I continue to deepen my knowledge through professional training and ongoing learning. Even through online sessions, I hope therapy can become a meaningful space in your life, somewhere you can reflect, work through difficult experiences, and feel supported as you move forward. If you feel this could be the right space for you, I’d be happy to meet you. We can start from there.
Whichever feels right today, there's no wrong place to start with Andressa.
